The recording was made on Nov. 1 & 2, 1967. The Band performed nightly at The Levee for many years. The menu itself was simple: mugs of Budweiser and peanuts-in the-shell. During this time period, The Levee was the largest Budweiser outlet in Missouri and Kansas. At closing time we all stood on the chairs, held our mugs high, and sang God Bless America. Unfortunately, in the late '70's the Levee changed forever. Even though the name and the building are the same, it will never the THE Levee.
